Over 900 Students Successfully Completed the First Edition of Arise by Aricent

On 26 October, 2017, Aricent and NASSCOM Foundation jointly announced the successful culmination of the Arise by Aricent program in Hyderabad. The culmination ceremony showcased Aricent’s unique approach to CSR programs, which is aligned with our vision - “Engineering the Future”. It was attended by many beneficiary students, colleges directors, representatives, implementing partners and civil society members.

“There is a dark storm in IT industry placements for fresh Engineering graduates, but Arise by Aricent is a program that gives us hope for the future”; this statement by one of the college representatives, was echoed by Jayesh Ranjan, State Principal Secretary (IT) Telangana, who said: “For our country to reap the benefits of the new opportunities, the serious problem of skills gap needs to be addressed holistically. A program like Arise by Aricent, could help us in this regard due to its integrated approach to skill building.”

The other dignitaries who were present at the occasion included Shrikant Sinha, CEO NASSCOM Foundation, Ashwani Lal, Chairman CSR Board and Chief Operations and Quality Officer and Susheel Saboo, CEO Mind Map.

Arise by Aricent: A Hope for the Future

During the graduation ceremony over 900 engineering students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges in and around Hyderabad, were felicitated. Overall, a total of 1400 students received skill-development training and 915 students have successfully cleared the rigorous examination.

Ashwani Lal apprised the audience about Aricent’s focus areas, engineering products and how Aricent’s CSR program is reaching nearly 45000 direct beneficiaries, through sustainable skill based programs. Many Aricent employees who volunteered to organise industry exposure sessions for the beneficiary students, were also felicitated for their valuable contribution.

Delivered in partnership with MindMap LLP, India’s leading vocational training provider and governed by NASSCOM Foundation, this on-campus program has equipped students with skills ranging from basics like SDLC methodologies, to programming languages like JAVA, database management languages like SQL, API creation through JDBC, project designing, and software testing.

This program is also helping students to develop communication skills, business etiquette, problem-solving skills, time management, customer orientation, interview skills and other soft skills. The candidates were later assessed on the NDSC-SSC NASSCOM Qualification Parameter-QP 501 and certified as a software developer, thereby enhancing their employment prospects.
