Mobile is everything, edge of innovation, unleash the future…interesting taglines aside, the Mobile World Congress is cutting-edge in more ways than one! What started in 1982 as GSM, reached its iconic level as Mobile World Congress (MWC) in 2008 and settled on Barcelona as the mobile world capital.

Every year the event consistently surpasses projections and this year the MWC calendar is packed with three startup competitions, 235 influential speakers, 450 startups, over 60 hands-on workshops, 5,000+ business meetings which will match entrepreneurs with potential investors, an awe-inspiring market for innovation, awards show and demonstrations of state-of-the-art technology.

From a business perspective, MWC is a great platform where you get to network with the who’s who of the communications industry, who will come together for the biggest tradeshow on earth. Yes, MWC attracted over 94,000+ attendees last year and these attendee numbers are dwarfed only by some large B2B and B2C events like CES, CeBIT, etc. MWC contributed 436 Million Euros and about 12,700 part-time jobs to the Spanish economy last year.
